For a brief moment the Oshakati Arts School came out to display the musical talent that is mostly hidden in the said ‘commercial centre of the north’.
It was at the official opening of the Oshakati Totem Expo 2023 that an opportunity was availed to some of the young artists of the Oshakati Arts School.
The school, which falls under the Oshana Directorate of Basic Education, Arts and Culture is situated in Oshakati West, where young people and old alike are given an opportunity to learn how to play musical instruments ranging from guitar, piano, drums and others.
Under the leadership of Mr Risto Iita, the school’s band did welcoming performances at Oshakati Independence Stadium including performing the national and AU anthems during the occasion of the official opening of the Expo.
The official opening was done by Vice President Nangolo Mbumba accompanied by Minister of Basic Education, Arts and Culture Mrs Anna Nghipondoka.
