Clean up your posters after elections

By Jason Beukes /

This is an open letter to all political parties in Namibia.

In the year of the National and Presidential elections to be held on 27 November 2024, emotions and excitement of campaigners for the soon-to-be leaders are set to be high.

It is with this same energy that I ask of you that after all is done, after all your posters are set up and used as advertisements to gain every vote possible on every lamp post, electrical kiosks, notice boards, in every, city, town, village and lokasie, that I ask of you to please clean up afterwards.

As a fellow Namibian I have seen this countless times that the banners and flyers still being displayed months after elections. To be regarded as a leader as I have been taught is, that one should lead by example.

Whatever the outcome, come November 28, I believe that it would also be your duty to see to it that our beautiful country should be looked after and left in the state it was found.

Please keep our country clean.
