Welwitchia University and the Harare Institute of Public Health have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), solidifying a partnership aimed at advancing education, research, and community engagement in the field of public health.
The signing ceremony took place in Windhoek on 27 March.
Professor Marius Hedimbi, the Vice Chancellor of Welwitchia University, and Dr Amos Marume, the Principal of Harare Institute of Public Health, signed the MoU, marking a commitment to collaborate on several key initiatives.
The ceremony was attended by Dr Monica Pendukeni, Welwitchia University co-founder and Council Chairperson, and Professor Scholastica Iipinge, the University’s Chancellor, highlighting the significance of this partnership.
“This collaboration with the Harare Institute of Public Health aligns perfectly with Welwitchia University’s mission to provide quality education and contribute to the well-being of our communities,” said Professor Hedimbi. “Together, we can create impactful programs that address critical public health challenges.”

“By combining our expertise and resources, we can create a powerful synergy that benefits students, faculty, and the communities we serve.”
The MoU outlines objectives such as student and staff exchange programs; community engagement; qualifications harmonisation; research collaborations; technology transfer; cultural and sports exchange; resource sharing; and training and development.
