With the closing of the curtain at the Oshakati Totem Expo 2025, all eyes are now facing the direction of Okahao, where the next major display in cultural wealth and heritage will be.
That is the Ehao Cultural Expo.
Taking place on 20 to 28 June 2025, at the Ehao Cultural Expo Centre, the one week event will deliver a great mixture of culture, food, local entrepreneurship, entertainment and sport activities, all under the theme: “Unlocking Cultural Tourism and Business Potential”.
Speaking to Omutumwa, Okahao Town Council’s marketing officer, Mr Timoteus Nuugulu said that Ehao has come a long way over its four years of existence, and a lot has been learned along the way, so that this time around Ehao will be an opportunity not to be missed.
“Other than the Ehao Cultural Expo itself, the town of Okahao is a home of rich heritage. Omadhiya and omikwa which are national heritage sites are found within the town boundaries,” Nuugulu said.
“Exhibitors and visitors would also find lots of business opportunities in Okahao, one of the fastest growing towns in the north. You find that business supporting entities are there, such as Agra, Buco, Megabuild, and banking institutions such as FNB, Bank Windhoek, Standard Bank, are there.
“And Nedbank is knocking on the door. Hungry Lion too, soon we will have Hungry Lion.”
Nuugulu was at the Oshakati Totem Expo, together with Okahao’s deputy mayor Ms Julia Katoole, where they were not only on hand to provide information about their town and its upcoming expo, but also to learn best practices in how others are running their expos.
