Close to 100 people gathered at Ongwediva on 2 August where they were taken on a journey in search of connection, inspiration and upliftment through the Sip and Connect Namibia.

The event was attended mostly by individuals from the upper-middle class of northern Namibia, who wanted to sip and connect with the best in the fields of personal development.

The event started off in the afternoon at Pupkewitz Volkswagen Ongwediva, with welcoming remarks by a humble woman who founded the Sip and Connect Namibia three years ago in Oshakati.

Ms Kathrin Amadhila had few words and did not elaborate on her big dream of reaching out to professionals in order to bring them together on a journey to connect, inspire and uplift the community.

This year she got several professionals in the fields of business, marketing, law, insurance, and medicine who came together to speak and share information and wisdom with the local people.

These speakers were Mr Gerome Schmidt, Dr Linda Nangombe, Mr Isai Shigwedha, Ms Lisa Hoveka, Ms Charmaine Tjihero and Mr Shawapala Kandjabanga.

Mr Gerome Schmidt spoke about the role and importance of a father in a presentation titled “Father to Father: Raising the Next Generation with Vision, Strength and Compassion”.

Next was Dr. Linda Nangombe who spoke on “Whole, Well and Thriving: Prioritising Health in Every Season.”

Ms Lisa Hoveka spoke about PPS Insurance Namibia, an insurance company that offers products such as sickness and permanent incapacity benefit, life cover, critical illness cover, and lump-sum disability benefit.

Mr Isai Shigwedha, the principal dealer at Pupkewitz Volkswagen Ongwediva spoke on “God in Business: Leading with Faith and Empowering Others”.

Ms Charmaine Tjihero, a legal practitioner, spoke on “Why Every Family and Business Needs a Will”.

Mr Shawapala Kandjabanga spoke on “The Disciplined Man: Healing, Identity, and Living with Intention”.

The panel discussion, titled “Yes, I can Also Do It: From Vision to Victory” facilitated by Ms Tuyeimo Haidula, did not take place, but the panelists only sat at the stage and responded to questions posed to them by the audience.

There were also performances by Jar Jar who rib-tickled the people with her “guerryology” piece of stand-up comedy, and Ella Kamati who recited two powerful poems.

In the end it was time to network around the stalls which looked much like a mini-expo.

The event was sponsored by Pupkewitz Volkswagen Ongwediva, Freshco, Tulip, Iyaloo’s Creations, Biazo Bakery, Tuno Foods, Bakes & Bites, Busy Kids Private School, and Vin Par Essie.

Ms Tuyeimo Haidula was the event’s MC.
