A contractor working at a new plant site interrupted the flow of water from the Outapi Water Treatment Plant for around six hours yesterday.
During trench excavation, the contractor damaged both the 250mm Ondukuta pipeline and the 300mm old raw water pipeline.
As a result, water supply to Outapi and surrounding areas was temporarily interrupted.
“NamWater’s civil maintenance team is on site attending to the repairs, which are expected to take approximately six hours to complete,” NamWater’s spokesperson Mr Lot Ndamanomhata said.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate the public’s patience and understanding while our team works to restore supply as soon as possible.”
