The Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) will no longer accept emailed or hand-delivered applications for jobs.

Instead all applicants will be required to create a user profile and submit their applications exclusively through DBN’s E-Recruitment System, accessible via the Bank’s website.

The new system, known as the “E-Recruitment System,” was launched on 1 October 2025, and is aimed at leveraging technological processes to deliver effective services to stakeholders.

“This is a significant innovative milestone in the Bank’s journey to modernise operations and enhance talent management,” said DBN’s chief for marketing and corporate affairs Mr Jerome Mutumba.

“The new system will streamline recruitment by making it faster, more efficient, and user-friendly, while strengthening compliance, ensuring full traceability of decisions, and reinforcing credibility and fairness in the hiring process.”

Mutumba also emphasised the importance of innovation in improving internal processes and systems that enable the Bank to offer better experiences at the point of recruitment in the digital world.

“Our people remain the cornerstone of DBN’s success. To sustain our mandate and drive Namibia’s development, we must not only attract the best talent but also nurture, develop, and retain the skills we already have.

“The introduction of the E-Recruitment System marks a strategic step forward, enhancing our ability to build a future-ready workforce and streamline our talent acquisition process.

“Supported by advanced AI tools, this platform empowers DBN to identify, engage, and grow the capabilities essential for our continued impact and growth.”

Matumba said that the system also supports DBN employees by providing greater visibility into their own talent profiles, enabling career growth, internal mobility, and secondments. This will allow DBN to manage its talent pool in a more structured and targeted approach.

The launch forms part of DBN’s broader digital transformation agenda, which focuses on simplifying processes, improving efficiency, and using technology to create opportunities for its people.

“By enhancing both recruitment and internal talent management, the Bank strengthens its ability to attract top talent while providing employees with greater opportunities for growth within DBN.

“With this launch, DBN reinforces its commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and building a sustainable institution that continues to contribute to Namibia’s development.”
