The Commissioner-General of Namibian Correctional Service on Wednesday visited the Katima Mulilo Correctional Facility’s farmland in the Zambezi Region to assess the progress of the new irrigation system installation.

Currently a total of seven centre-pivot irrigation systems have been installed, and they are now awaiting water connection.

The Commissioner-General indicated that the goal is to have the entire installation completed by the end of March or early April this year.

He also held an engagement with correctional staff members on Thursday, where he urged staff members at the Katima Mulilo Correctional Facility to strive for teamwork in order for the organisation to prosper.

He explained that teaming up, as opposed to working in isolation, drives an organisation to success and collective victory.

The Commissioner-General is expected to travel to Divundu Correctional Facility to assess the maize plantation and engage with the correctional staff members there, before travelling back to Windhoek.
