Old Mutual Namibia has reaffirmed its commitment to meaningful community development through a sponsorship of N$80 000 towards the third edition of the Standard Bank Padel for Purpose, taking place on 11 and 12 September 2026 in Windhoek.

Old Mutual Namibia’s Corporate Segment and Personal Finance business units have each contributed N$40 000, demonstrating a shared commitment to supporting initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impact in communities across Namibia.

Padel for Purpose forms part of Standard Bank Namibia’s Buy-a-Brick Programme, a corporate social investment initiative implemented in partnership with the Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia.

Since its inception in 2016, the programme has raised more than N$27 million and contributed towards the construction of approximately 740 houses for low-income Namibian families.

The annual event brings together corporate organisations, stakeholders and community members to raise funds and awareness for one of Namibia’s most pressing social challenges: access to safe and dignified housing.

Speaking on behalf of Old Mutual Corporate, Isaack Veii, Head of Distribution and Retention, said the sponsorship reflects the organisation’s commitment to partnering for meaningful and sustainable impact.

“Housing is more than just shelter. It provides families with stability, dignity and a foundation on which they can build better futures,” Veii said.

“Through our support of Padel for Purpose, we are proud to join other organisations in contributing towards a cause that creates lasting change in communities across Namibia. This initiative demonstrates the power of collaboration in addressing real societal challenges.”

Ndadhinitha Ndoroma, Old Mutual Personal Finance General Manager, said the initiative aligns strongly with Old Mutual’s purpose of enabling positive futures for all Namibians.

“At Old Mutual, we believe that thriving communities are built when people have access to opportunities that improve their quality of life,” Ndoroma said.

“Supporting the Buy-a-Brick initiative allows us to contribute towards creating safer and more secure living environments for vulnerable households while partnering with stakeholders who share our commitment to social progress.”

He said that the contribution reflects a shared commitment by Old Mutual to support initiatives that deliver tangible social impact while strengthening partnerships that drive sustainable development.

“By participating in Padel for Purpose, Old Mutual aims to support community upliftment efforts, strengthen stakeholder engagement and reinforce its role as a responsible corporate citizen committed to creating value beyond financial services.”
