Namibia’s athletics administrative body, Athletics Namibia, has elected its executive board that will serve for the period 2025 to 2029.

This took place at the Athletics Namibia (AN) Elective Congress held on 30 November.

Those elected are AN President Leon Nienaber and Vice-President Mwilla Modestus, while Madeleine Kotze is the Secretary General.

Finance Secretary is Nic Geldenhuys, while the Track & Field Secretary is Bethold Karumendu.

Moses Teofelus is the Road Running Secretary, while Remigius Iiyambo is the Cross Country Secretary, and Cecilia Nepembe is the Officials Secretary.

Henk Botha is the Coaching Secretary, while the Selection Secretary is Meriam Minin, and the Publicity Secretary is Edward Kapewasha.

The Medical and Anti-Doping Secretary is Victoria Katukula.

The position for the Athletes Representative is not yet filled as this will come from the Athletes Association. The Safeguarding Officer will also be co-opted to the board by the new board members.

“Since January 2023, this volunteering journey has been an enriching and fulfilling experience, one I will always cherish,” said outgoing Media Liaison and Publicity Officer Mr Lot Ndamanomhata in a message sent to the media.

“I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support and collaboration you have extended to me throughout this time.

“Your dedication to covering athletics and amplifying the stories that matter most has played a significant role in promoting the sport across Namibia.”
