Let’s make this a year for business
By Victor Angula /
Last year was an important year on the political calendar of Namibia. It was an election year. The year 2024 was a political year.
Politicians and upcoming politicians were up and about, busy and spending money, spending energy, time and effort on their political activities. A lot of money and energy was spent on election campaigns.
Now as we have entered 2025, we must make this year a business year. This year should be the year where business people and entrepreneurs must be busy and running up and down doing their business activities just as the politicians did their thing during 2024.
Business people must spend money, spend time, and spend energy on job creation activities, and spend effort on activities to expand their enterprises.
Stakeholders in government and other non-state entities such as economists and others whose role is to create a better economy for Namibia, all of them must double their efforts.
The goals of increasing and improving commercial activities at all levels of the society should take centre stage at state institutions so that a conducive environment can be created for the economy to expand at all levels.
Business bodies such as the NCCI, Naloba, Black Business Leadership Network, United Entrepreneurs Association of Namibia, etc., must pull up their socks and make this a year for business excellence.
It must be a year for business growth, economic expansion, and commercial development. An economic revolution should start this year. As this is the last five years on our sprint to the year 2030, let’s make this year to be the beginning of the last dash to the year 2030.
