Namibia’s legendary musician Hans Ras Sheehama was on Saturday laid to rest by hundreds of people from all walks of life, including politicians and fellow musicians he inspired with his music before and after Independence.
Well known by his classic hit song “Cassinga”, Sheehama’s brand of reggae music appealed to all, the youth and old people.
He died on 5 September 2025.
Sheehama’s final farewell and burial was done at his home village of Onamulunga in Omusati region.
Omusati Governor Mr Immanuel Shikongo and Swapo Secretary General Mrs Sophia Shaningwa were present and honored Sheehama with befitting tributes. Fellow musicians also attended in big numbers.
