Love and respect your body

By Josefina “Ndeshi” Gabriel |

I have come to realize that a person’s body is important and it’s a very good thing to have.

Without it we are not human beings at all. The body holds your life and future. Therefore you need to protect it and take care of it very well.

God created us in a very wonderful image, in a very beautiful appearance and he gave us all that we are proud of, and so we always tell ourselves that we are beautiful.

How do we handle ourselves then?

The important thing to know first is to know that you’re a unique being ever since from your mother’s womb. You’re the original, because God never created a copy. So that there is no need to doubt yourself.

Therefore you can’t throw yourself away. Your parent did not keep you and raise you from childhood until now just for nothing. God didn’t create you and bring you so far to leave you halfway.

Just don’t mess up your life, no matter how hard life is. Most people drink too much. Some commit suicide to end themselves due to problems. And I want to assure you that, that’s not a solution.

You better seek for God’s face and pray. Consider yourself strong, and win all your battles.

Don’t use your body to violate others or allow it to be violated just because you no longer love and respect your body.

Don’t use your ears or your tongue or any part of your body to mess up your life or the lives of others. Don’t listen to bad things, but keep your ear away from bad words and gossip. Keep your mouth closed and avoid speaking bad things or lie or accusing others.

Protect your body from being hurt. How?

Avoid unnecessary movement and places which seem to be dangerous and keep your distance from strange people.

Instead use your body to do good things. And do good things to your body such as eating healthy food, doing exercises which can help your body to become fit, and drink more water rather than alcohol.

So stop making a dustbin out of yourself, stop destroying your body. Be happy with yourself, be kind to your body and love yourself as God loves you.
