The showers of rain that fell around the country in the past week brought life to the environment, with oshanas (seasonal wetlands) brimming with plant life as well as animal life as fish, frogs and birds followed the water currents that flowed from the higher lands in the north of Namibia.
This congregation of the egret family was spotted in Oshakati. Egrets primarily consume fish, but also eat crustaceans, amphibians, and small mammals found in ponds.
