The Namibia Netball Premier League is in full swing, with games taking place successfully and on course to determine this season’s winner of the coveted league sponsored by telecommunications giant MTC.
While the vastness of the land of the brave poses as one of the challenges for the smaller teams since teams have to travel to the south or to the north for games according to the rounds of play set by the league’s governing body, one other challenge some teams are encountering is the competition against the ladies in uniformed forces.
So far the teams from the country’s uniformed forces, namely the Namibian Correctional Services Netball Club, and the national defence force (Mighty Gunners Netball Club and Namibian Navy Netball Club), as well as the police force (Otjozondjupa Nampol NC) are dominating the league.
The four are at spots one, two, three and fourth on the logstanding table.
In the bottom of the table are Young Stars NC, Rebels NC, Northern Fly Ballers NC and Fatou NC at the very bottom.
