With the increasing numbers of upcoming influencers, companies have to carefully strategize when choosing influencers to work with.

While some are signed under agencies, most influencers work independently which allows them to choose their own clients and make decisions without having to consult or to be approved by any management.

Here are a few tips which your company can look into when choosing influencers to work with.

  1. Define your goals

How can influencers leverage their creativity and expertise to achieve the campaign objectives? You have to clearly understand what you wish to achieve by collaborating with the influencers.

  1. Understand your target audience

It is very important to understand who you wish to attract. Knowing your target audience can help you in choosing the right influencers for the specific campaign. This can be achieved by conducting a market research. This is so important in order to ensure that your content will be engaging and useful.

  1. Research influencers

Your organisation has to do an investigation on influencers. Here are some qualities of great influencers: Trustworthy, Authenticity, Creativity, Passionate about creating content, and Relatable and Responsive.

  1. Discus payment plans

Here are some examples of methods you can use to pay influencers: Flat fees, Gifting, Commission, Pay-per-post, Performance based incentives, and Retainers which creates long term partnerships.

  1. Sign a non–disclosure agreement

This clause protects the brand. Even after the end of your working relationship with the specific influencer, the influencer is prevented or limited in making damaging statements about your company, employees and products.
