Namibia’s senior national football team, the Brave Warriors, needs N$7.5 million to be able to play its 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The money is needed within the next 21 days.

In order to raise this money, Brave Warriors world cup campaign committee chairperson Mr Tim Ekandjo announced plans for a fundraising event to support the national team ahead of their final two home matches in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Apart from the gala dinner held two weeks ago which was attended by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, and a fundraising SMS competition which is ongoing, Ekandjo said that some more money is expected to be raised at a battle of giants game between African Stars and Eeshoke Chula Chula on 31 August 2025 at Windhoek’s Independence Stadium.

Then the Brave Warriors will face Malawi on 5 September, and Sao Tome and Principe on 9 September in Francistown, Botswana.
