Not only has Sanlam Namibia been busy at the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair explaining that it has now become “SanlamAllianz Namibia”, the insurance giant also took time out to engage with stakeholders at a dinner hosted at a nearby guesthouse.
The event took place on 28 August, just two days before the conclusion of the 2025 Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair which started on 22 August.
“On 24 June, we launched our new brand, SanlamAllianz, to the Namibian public. Today is about bringing that celebration closer to you here in the North to share with you not only a new name, but a new story of possibility and confidence,” said Wendy Naruses.
Naruses, who is the marketing and communication manager for sales at SanlamAllianz, stated that the Sanlam Group was founded in Cape Town in 1918, and has grown its footprint across 33 African countries, solidifying its position as the continent’s largest insurer.
“Allianz, an even older institution founded in Berlin in 1890, now serves over 120 million clients in more than 70 countries from its head office in Munich. Their operations in Africa began in 1912. And here is a fun fact! Allianz was the insurer for movies such as James Bond and Titanic.
“Two trusted names, each with a powerful story, choosing to join forces for one reason ‘together, we can do more’.
“For us here in Namibia, that means more than just a new name or a new logo. It means access to worldclass financial solutions, the backing of global expertise, and a stronger commitment to serve our communities with excellence.
“But beyond the products and services, there is one word that defines this new brand: confidence.
“Confidence that when life changes, we stand with you. Confidence that we are not only global, but deeply rooted here at home. Confidence that the people of Namibia, our clients, our partners, our colleagues can plan for the future, embrace opportunities, and live without fear.
“That is the story of SanlamAllianz. A story that belongs not only to us as a company, but to every one of you who continues to walk this journey with us.
“Together, let’s write the next chapter, one of growth, resilience, and confidence for Namibia.”
