Unemployment and madness go together

By Victor Angula |

There are not many things which are more important than a job. A job is one of the most important things on this earth.

Especially for young men, there is nothing to live for if the person is unemployed and therefore unable to make and justify his living.

Namibia is said to be one country with a high rate of suicides and high rate of mental illnesses affecting men. And Namibia is also one of the countries with high unemployment.

Yes, the two go together.

Unemployment and madness go together. In a country where there are resources which are as uncountable as the grains of sand of the Namib desert, but young men are unable to find productive labour, a person will go mad.

The people go mad because this unemployment situation is not a result of nature, or caused by natural factors. It is caused by a system. High unemployment is caused by a system which does not care about the need to exploit the youth’s energy for society’s benefit.

Those who are at the resources continue to sit on the resources, and they are just quiet as long as they are sorted. Yes, someone is bound to go mad.

Young men are going mad to such as extent that, after having finished up all the medicine at State Hospitals, they are now ending up inside the State House. Yes, found in the State House naked.

It is madness of the highest order never seen in this world.
