Old Mutual Namibia hosted its Annual Corporate Golf Day on Friday, 4 September 2026 at the Windhoek Golf and Country Club, welcoming approximately 140 players from across the public and private sectors.

The event brought together clients, partners and stakeholders for a day of friendly competition, networking and relationship-building.

Each four-ball included an Old Mutual Namibia representative, creating opportunities for meaningful conversations and connections beyond the usual business environment.

Among those who participated were Bank of Namibia Governor Ebson Uanguta and Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Ms Emma Theofelus, reflecting the broad cross-section of leaders and partners who took part in the day.

Mignon du Preez, Group Marketing, Public Affairs and Sustainability Executive at Old Mutual Namibia, said the golf day remains an important opportunity to engage with stakeholders in a more personal and relaxed setting.

“We spend much of the year engaging with our clients and partners through meetings, presentations and business discussions,” Du Preez said.

“Events like this allow us to connect differently, strengthen relationships and spend quality time with the people who support and contribute to our success. Those conversations and connections are what make the day truly valuable.”

Tassius Chigariro, Group Chief Executive Officer of Old Mutual Namibia, said the event reflects the organisation’s commitment to nurturing long-term partnerships.

“The golf day provides an opportunity to step away from the office and connect on a more personal level,” Chigariro stated.

“It creates space for authentic conversations, shared experiences and stronger relationships. These moments help build trust and reinforce the partnerships that are so important to our business and the communities we serve.”

Beyond the competition on the course, the event served as a celebration of the relationships that underpin Old Mutual Namibia’s business.

The day concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, recognising the top-performing teams and individual players while providing guests with an opportunity to reflect on a successful day of camaraderie and connection.

The winning teams were Falcon Real Estates and Insurance, with Neville Smith, Nelago Amutenya, Shaquille Smith and Hafeni Nghinamwaami; MNE Accounting Services, with Milton Eiseb, Fergusson Paulse, Wisdom Moyo and Enrica Farmer; and AK88 Investments, with Elias Mulombwelwa, Heinrich Klazen, Bertus Damon and Logan Fransman.

The day also made room for giving back through the Chipping for Charity activation, which raised more than N$1 000. The funds will be donated to the Katutura Old Age Home, extending the spirit of care beyond the golf course and into the community.

The Old Mutual Namibia Golf Day has become a valued annual tradition, bringing together clients, partners and stakeholders to celebrate partnerships, foster collaboration and strengthen relationships in an informal setting.

As one of the organisation’s signature stakeholder engagement events, it continues to provide a platform for meaningful interaction and lasting connections.
