The Namibia Cyber Security Incident Response Team (NAM-CSIRT), housed at the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN), has announced the appointment of Ms. Cornelia Shipindo as the Executive for NAM-CSIRT.

The appointment is effective 1 October 2026.

Ms. Shipindo’s appointment marks a significant step in strengthening Namibia’s national cyber resilience and advancing coordinated efforts to protect critical information infrastructure, public institutions, businesses, and citizens against evolving cyber threats.

A seasoned Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and cyber security professional, Shipindo brings extensive experience in cyber security, ICT governance, risk management, digital transformation, regulatory compliance, project management, and stakeholder engagement.

Her track record reflects a strong commitment to innovation, institutional capacity building, and the development of secure digital ecosystems.

In her role as Executive for NAM-CSIRT, Shipindo will provide strategic leadership and oversight of Namibia’s national cyber security incident response capability.

Her responsibilities include enhancing national cyber threat preparedness, strengthening collaboration among key stakeholders, coordinating incident response mechanisms, promoting cyber security awareness, and supporting the implementation of national cyber security priorities.

Welcoming the appointment, Mrs. Emilia Nghikembua, Chief Executive Officer of CRAN and Head of NAM-CSIRT, said: “We are pleased to welcome Ms. Cornelia Shipindo to CRAN’s leadership team.

“Her extensive experience in cyber security, ICT governance, and strategic management will be instrumental in strengthening Namibia’s cyber resilience and advancing our vision of a secure, trusted, and digitally empowered nation.

“Her leadership will further deepen collaboration among government, industry, academia, and international partners as we respond to the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape.”

Mrs. Nghikembua added that the appointment underscores NAM-CSIRT’s commitment to strengthening institutional capacity and ensuring Namibia remains proactive, coordinated, and prepared in addressing emerging cyber security challenges.

Ms. Shipindo welcomed the appointment, stating: “I am honoured to be appointed at a critical time in Namibia’s digital transformation journey.

Under Shipindo’s leadership, NAM-CSIRT will continue to advance initiatives that strengthen national incident response capabilities, improve cyber security awareness, promote information sharing, and foster collaboration to safeguard Namibia’s digital environment and critical information infrastructure.
