Players of the MTC Netball National Premier League will receive a monthly allowance of N$500 from the league sponsor Mobile Telecommunications (MTC).
This was said during the event of the conclusion of the league won by the Namibian Correctional Service (NCS) Netball Club a week ago.
The decision to provide the allowance to players was confirmed by Mr Erasmus Nekundi, MTC’s communications officer, in an interview with Omutumwa.
Nekundi said that the cash allowance will be done in an effort to move towards the professionalisation of the league.
Nekundi however said that it will be best if other sponsors can come on board to combine efforts with MTC in order to improve the brand of netball in Namibia.
