National Director of Osaat Africa Health Foundation and Public Health Advocate, Baleria Chomore, has been selected as a Digital Health Champion for the 2026 cohort of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
The programme brings together emerging leaders from across the continent who are committed to advancing digital health solutions and strengthening health systems in Africa.
The Youth Digital Health Champions initiative is part of the Africa Youth in Digital Health Network, established by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
The programme aims to empower young leaders across Africa to promote digital health innovation, strengthen health systems, and support the use of technology to improve healthcare delivery.
Through this initiative, selected champions collaborate with policymakers, experts, and partners to advance digital health solutions that address key health challenges across the continent.
Chomore serves as the National Director of Osaat Africa Health Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to improving women’s health and expanding access to essential healthcare services in rural and semi-rural communities.
Through the foundation, she leads initiatives aimed at strengthening preventive healthcare for women. Osaat Africa Health Foundation has also developed an innovative one-stop women’s health hub in low-resource communities, enabling women to access multiple essential health services in a single visit all free of charge.
In addition, the organisation is actively advancing digital health solutions to improve healthcare delivery and health education across underserved communities.
“I am deeply honored to be named an Africa CDC Digital Health Champion. This role gives me the opportunity to lead, advocate, and harness digital health solutions to improve healthcare access, create meaningful, lasting impact in Namibia, and extend these benefits across Africa,” said Chomore.
As an Africa CDC Digital Health Champion, Valeria Chomore aims to advance digital health solutions that improve healthcare delivery, strengthen health systems, and expand access to essential services, particularly in underserved communities.
She is committed to fostering youth leadership, advocating for equitable healthcare, and driving meaningful impact at both local and continental levels.
“Namibia’s new National Digital Health Policy, introduced by Minister of Health Dr. Esperance Luvindao, is a game-changing moment for our country. It creates a platform for young leaders to shape the future of healthcare, and for me, it is an exciting opportunity to align my work with national priorities and ensure digital health innovations benefit communities across Namibia and Africa,” said Chomore.
