Schooltex, a local clothing manufacturing company this past week handed over 60 pieces of shirts and shorts of playing gear to Arcadia FC junior teams as contribution to the club’s youth development programme.
Schooltex and Sportwear CC is part of M&M Innovations, a Namibian garment manufacturing company of school, sport and safety wear.
“As a former player of Arcadia FC, I have seen the progress the club is making in providing an opportunity to young people and this is good both for the youngster but also continuing with the Arcadia culture of encouraging a healthy life style and keeping the young ones off the street and unscrupulous behaviours in the community,” said Mr Alfonso Mathupi, Production Manager at M&M Innovations.
“The recent launch of the training ground which we supported together with Brumar Construction, shows that we can do more.
“I would like to invite other companies to join Schooltex and Brumar Construction in making sure that by the end of the year Arcadia FC has a top class facility not only for the club but also for the community of Grysblok and John Pandeni Constituency in the Khomas Region,” Mathupi added.
“This sponsorship comes at a very important stage of the club development as this means the club can be able to take as many youngsters to play in the various leagues in the Khomas region.
“We would like to thank Schooltex not only for the kit sponsorship but also for supporting our raffle campaign to be able to establish our own training and recreation facility in Grysblok,” said Paul Egelser, Executive Member of Arcadia FC, when receiving the sponsorship
“It’s only when we start reinvesting in the communities that we come from that we as a people will be able to grow and improve.
“We are available to engage, any kind of contribution is welcome, after playing on various facilities around Windhoek, it is time that we have a facility that we can call our own and be able to offer companies such as Schooltex mileage both on and off the field, with billboard and banners, and the same can be extended to other partners who join this noble initiative,” Egelser added.
The sponsorship from Schooltex comprises of over 70 pieces of training and playing gear for the Under 11, U-15 and U-17 teams, valued at over N$30, 000.00.
