Omaleshe Entertainment Group, the one and only youth group that uses the Oshakati Multipurpose Youth Centre as its practicing ground, was today there to entertain the Minister of Industrialisation and Trade Mrs Lucia Iipumbu when she officially opened the Caribbean Recreation Centre.
Caribbean Recreation Centre, situated in Oshakati East, just next to the High Court, is a facility that provides for leisure and recreation, as well as sport courts. The place lay dormant and in disuse for decades, until the Oshakati Town Council, the owner, decided now to renovate it and therefore open it for the public in order to keep the youth of Oshakati off the streets.
The centre boasts of two swimming pools, one for adults and one for kids. There are also courts for volleyball, basketball, tennis, 7-a-side soccer, and a restaurant. There is also enough space for boot camps and trade exhibitions.
