NamPost was the big winner at the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair Awards ceremony held last night after scooping both the Best Banking Institution Exhibitor Award and the Overall Winner OATF 2023 Award.

Another one who walked away with a big win was Naiti Traditional Adornments who won the Best Made in Namibia Exhibitor Award.

Other notable winners included Wongula Investments who won the Best Arts & Crafts Exhibitor Award, Agro Marketing Agency (AMTA) who won the Best Agriculture Exhibitor Award, Tulongeni Ngaha who won the Best Small Scale Enterprise Exhibitor Award, and the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) who won the Best Educational Institution Exhibitor Award.

In total the categories where awards were up for grabs were 21.

Ongwediva Town’s chief executive officer Mr Damian Egumbo in his closing remarks said that one of the criteria used by judges to determine the winners was that the judging process started right on the first day of the trade fair.

“You may well be aware that some of you were not ready and were still busy setting up your stalls on the first day, and that counted against you,” Egumbo said.

“Another is that no matter how big or how well established you are, if you lack customer service and the efforts you have put into marketing and attracting visitors to your stall is not satisfactory, and of course the general appearance of your stall, all these were some of the main considerations by the judges.”

The awards ceremony was sponsored by Standard Bank and the Road Fund Administration (RFA).
