Namibian super lightweight boxer Jeremiah Nakathila’s ambition and hope of registering a second win on American soil failed again after he was stopped in his tracks by American Ernesto ‘Tito’ Mercadp Jr last Saturday.

The fight between the two took place in Lumcolor Center in Ontario, California, with Nakathila fighting to regain his dreams of reaching the top again and become a contender again for an international title.

But he was not up to the task against the fast-punching Mercado who knocked the Namibian down-and-out in the second round.

Nakathila became the first Namibian boxer in decades after Harry Simon to win in the United States when in March 2022 he defeated Mexican former world champion Miguel Berchelt in Las Vegas.

But then in an attempt to repeat the same feat, Nakathila lost to American Raymond Muratalla last May by knockout within two rounds; and now again losing to Mercado by knockout within two rounds.
