Old Mutual Short-Term Insurance (OMSIC) announced a handover of a N$40 000 sponsorship to the Namibia Road Safety Forum (NRSF).

The contribution is designed to bolster the forum’s efforts in conducting activities and acquiring equipment aimed at promoting road safety awareness during the festive season.

The NRSF initiative aligns with OMSIC’s commitment to fostering safety, particularly during a period when an increase in road accidents often results in insurance claims.

By championing road safety awareness, the sponsorship aims to reduce motor vehicle accidents on national roads during the festive season.

The official handover event took place last week, and was facilitated by Johannes Hesekiel, General Manager for Personal Lines at Old Mutual.

The event featured the presence of Horst Heimstadt, a representative of NRSF, and Deputy Commissioner P.C.J Swartz, the Head of the NAMPOL Traffic Law Enforcement Department.

The sponsorship underscores OMSIC’s dedication to making a positive impact on road safety in Namibia. Hesekiel expressed OMSIC’s commitment, stating, “We are proud to support the Namibia Road Safety Forum in their crucial mission.

“Our sponsorship reflects our commitment to fostering safer roads during the festive season and beyond.”

The handover event not only marked the initiation of this partnership but also served as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of road safety.

OMSIC extended its gratitude to the public for joining in supporting this cause and emphasized the collective responsibility in creating safer roads for all.
