Athletics Namibia’s highly anticipated National Cross-Country Championships took place at the Open Grounds Field (near youth centre) in Eenhana on Saturday, 03 February 2024.

Both Men and Women, from all Athletics Namibia regions and associate members including schools took part in this championship.

In athletics, a National Cross Country is a type of race where participants compete on a natural terrain, such as grass, dirt, or trails, typically covering longer distances than traditional track races.

The National Cross Country Championships is held in line with AN’s Strategic Plan to revive cross country running in the country.

The event also served as a qualifying opportunity for the school athletes for the World School Sport Cross Country Championships, to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from  9-12 May 2024.

Athletics Namibia expresses its thanks to regions, clubs and schools for participating and making the event a success.
