The 9th edition of the Public Enterprises CEO Forum Games which took place in Oshakati from 6 June concluded tonight (8 June) after seeing teams and individual athletes putting on display some outstanding performances.

During the three days event 39 State-Owned Enterprises competed in sport codes such as soccer, netball, volleyball, pool, tug-o-war, 10 km marathon, and 100m relay.

Teams which did well received medals and trophies.

Sport, Youth and National Youth Service Minister Agnes Tjongarero said that the games provided an opportunity for athletes to show their talents and also create bonds of friendship with employees of various public enterprises.

“This was a platform for you to celebrate and compete in a spirit of true sportsmanship. Your participation is what made these games memorable,” Tjongarero said.

“Each one of you contributed to the success of these games. To the winners, your hardwork and dedication has paid off. You deserve all the honour bestowed upon you tonight.”

Although a few public enterprises, such as GIPF, NDTC, RCC, etc., did not make it to the games, those who made it came with big numbers of athletes, which made the event a success.
