Old Mutual Namibia has announced the appointment of Hileni Amadhila as the new Senior Public Relations, Stakeholder, and Communications Consultant within the Group Marketing, Public Affairs, and Sustainability team.

Hileni brings over 11 years of experience in strategic marketing and communication to her new role at Old Mutual Namibia.

With a track record in leading external and internal communication, PR, advertising, and brand management, Ms Amadhila is poised to enhance Old Mutual Namibia’s communication efforts and strengthen its corporate reputation.

Although FNB Namibia is not well known for effective communication, Old Mutual Namibia states that, in her previous role at FNB Namibia, Amadhila spearheaded the development of effective corporate communication strategies and innovative media plans, ensuring optimal exposure for the FirstRand Group and its subsidiary brands.

Her responsibilities included gathering and disseminating accurate information to stakeholders, monitoring the media landscape, and providing input into strategic planning processes.

“As a freelance communications consultant, Hileni partnered with various clients to provide strategic PR, marketing, and corporate communications support,” Old Mutual said in a statement.

“Her expertise in researching market trends, building marketing strategies, and engaging audiences through social media has contributed to the success of numerous projects.

“Prior to her consultancy work, Hileni served as a Corporate Communications Executive and Senior Copywriter at various advertising agencies, where she oversaw internal and external communications for a diverse portfolio of corporate clients.”

Amadhila also managed communication campaigns, prepared media reports, and collaborated with brands such as Nedbank Namibia, Nampost, and Old Mutual.

Amadhila’s journey in communications began in journalism, where she honed her skills in news content development and social media management. Her experience as a journalist at Windhoek Observer and The Namibian newspapers equipped her with a deep understanding of media dynamics and storytelling.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hileni to the Old Mutual Namibia family,” said Mignon du Preez, Group Marketing, Public Affairs and Sustainability Executive at Old Mutual Namibia.

“Her wealth of experience and strategic acumen will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our brand and engage with our stakeholders.

Old Mutual Namibia is excited to welcome Hileni Amadhila as she embarks on this thrilling journey with Old Mutual Namibia, bringing her passion for strategic communication and her wealth of experience to our team.”

Outside of work, Amadhila finds inspiration in the words of Henry David Thoreau: “How vain it is to sit and write when you have not stood up to live.”
