The Naitembu yaNamwandi Cultural Group was on hand to welcome the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, Mr Calle Gustaf Schlettwein, at the groundbreaking of the Ohangwena II Wellfield Water Supply Schemes in Eenhana recently.
Minister Schlettwein was accompanies by NamWater CEO Mr Abraham Nehemia, Deputy ED for Water Affairs in the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, Dr Elijah Ngurare, and local leaders such as the Chairperson of Ohangwena Regional Council Mr Erickson Ndawanifa, Senior Chief for Eenhana District Mr Efraim Weyulu, Mayor of Eenhana Mr Omri-Onn Kavandje, and others who came to witness the beginning of work to draw water from underground reservoirs in parts of Ohangwena region.
Naitembu yaNamwandi welcomed Schlettwein’s delegation with the song “Calle ove wetu ifana”. The group also performed some of their hit traditional songs, and also one titled “Twapandula” and also another “Lekeleni Naitembu otai”.
