The Black Melody Cultural Group was on hand to entertain the crowd at the official opening of the Oshakati Totem Expo last Saturday with their mesmerising Tswana songs and dance moves.
The group, which came all the way from Omaheke region, to represent the Batswana Ba Namibia Traditional Authority, was given a brief moment before the keynote speech by Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security Mrs Lucia Iipumbu.
While other groups, such as Iita yaKadha and a Mafwe Traditional Authority Cultural Group, also had a moment to display their traditional songs and dance moves, it was the Black Melody which was the crowd’s favourite.
“They will be around during the course of the Oshakati Totem Expo to give you some more,” said Mr Timoteus Namwandi who was the director of proceedings.
The expo which started on 30 May ends on 7 June.
