Mobile Telecommunications Ltd (MTC) has increased its footprints of service access points by opening three new mobile homes – one, a first for Divundu, while Rundu and Katima Mulilo received each their second MTC Mobile homes which are expected to officially open doors to the public in the first week of November.
According to MTC’s Chief Commercial Officer, Octivius Kahiya, the move is born out of the company’s expansion strategy to improve and bring service access points to the people in the regions.
“Strategic to business, the decision to open these new Mobile Homes is to allow more citizens to have easy access to the crucial MTC services,” said Kahiya.
“The populace of Divundu no longer have to travel to Rundu in search of our services. They now have their first ever presence of an MTC Retail shop.
“On the other hand, Rundu and Katima Mulilo only had one MTC shop in the past. However, due to the population increase in these towns over the years, there has been a growing need for additional retail shops to sufficiently serve and cater to the high demand of the people.
“The queues at our shop in Rundu and Katima Mulilo were always long, however, the opening of the second shop in each of the two towns will bring relief, convenience, and satisfaction to our customers.”
Kahiya says that these retail stores are service hubs equipped to provide telecommunications, digital financial services, and customer support to local communities.
“The homes are offering MTC full range services such as account payments, devices purchasing, sim replacement, airtime purchasing, and more.”
In July, MTC opened two new shops in the Windhoek and Omuthiya, and these latest ones (Rundu, Divundu, and Katima Mulilo) have brought the total to five Mobile Homes that the telco has opened this year.
“Opening five Mobile Homes in a space of four months is a sheer statement to our commitment to taking the service closer to the people,” said Kahiya.
“Customer service is the essence of our business operations. We are always thinking of ways to better and make the lives of our people easy.”
