Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation, Arts, Youth, and Sport Mr Dino Ballotti was at the airport in the afternoon of 5 August to welcome Namibia’s representatives at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games 2026.
The games took place in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 2 August, where all English-speaking countries competed for top honours in various sport codes.
Namibia returned with three medals, all won by boxers – one silver and two bronze medals.
The welcoming occasion however belonged to boxer Tryagain Ndevelo who had returned with a silver medal.
Speaking at the welcoming briefing at Hosea Kutako International Airport Ndevelo thanked everyone who had come out to welcome the team, and added that the silver medal he had won belongs to every Namibian.
