August 26, a prominent group of companies operating from Windhoek, stepped in after hearing the sad news of the death of a five-year-old girl in Sweet Valley Location of Okahandja.

The late Romien Tsuses tragically passed away on 22 July 2026 after suffering what is believed to be severe malnutrition, and she was laid to rest in Okahandja on 6 August 2026.

Days before the burial August 26 Logistics, a subsidiary of the August 26 Croup of Companies, provided humanitarian assistance to the Tsuses family by donating groceries and other essential household items to help ease their burden during a difficult time.

The donation formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme, which seeks to support vulnerable individuals, families and communities across Namibia.

Speaking during the memorial service held at the Tsuses family residence, Martin Tomas, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the August 26 Group of Companies, said the passing of the young Romien had deeply touched the hearts of many Namibians and reaffirmed the Groups’s commitment to serving communities with compassion.

“The passing of young Romien is a heartbreaking reminder of the challenges that some families continue to face,” Tomas said.

“As the August 26 Group of Companies, we believe that corporate responsibility goes beyond business. It is about standing with communities, showing compassion and offering support during their most difficult moments.

“While no act can erase the pain of losing a loved one, we hope our assistance brought some comfort to the Tsuses family during this difficult time.”

Speaking to the media after the funeral, Tomas stated that through initiatives such as these, August 26 Logistics continues to demonstrate that responsible business extends beyond commercial success by standing with communities in times of need.

Mr Tomas, attended the funeral and burial service, and was accompanied by Warrant Officer Mapenzi Mapenzi, the Assistant Manager for Operations at August 26 Logistics.
