MTC congratulates Netball Namibia on the national team’s historic qualification for the upcoming Netball World Cup, an achievement that reflects the growth, resilience and excellence of Namibian sport on the international stage.
This milestone reflects the tireless dedication of the players, coaches, administrators and stakeholders who have advanced netball in Namibia. It is a proud moment for the sport and the nation as the team prepares to compete among the world’s best.
Commenting on the achievement, MTC’s Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability Officer, Tim Ekandjo, said: “We are immensely proud of Netball Namibia’s outstanding achievement. The World Cup qualification reflects years of dedication, sacrifice and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
“It will inspire young athletes across Namibia and show what talent can achieve when supported by hard work, vision and strong leadership.”
The qualification underscores the growing strength of women’s sport in Namibia and the role of sport in fostering national pride, social cohesion and youth empowerment.

“This is the vision we had when we launched the MTC Namibia Netball Premiership, and seeing it come to life today means everything. It is even more meaningful to note that this qualification comes a mere six years after the establishment of the MTC Namibia Netball Premiership, making this an achievement worthy of celebration,” Ekandjo said.

MTC’s structured sponsorship of Netball Namibia began in 2021 with the launch of the MTC Namibia Netball Premier League (NNPL). The initial three-year sponsorship, valued at approximately N$4.8 million for 2021–2023, aimed to professionalise the sport and establish a national elite league.
“Since 2021, MTC has invested more than N$12 million in developing and professionalising Namibian netball, supporting the growth of the MTC Namibia Netball Premier League and creating opportunities for hundreds of athletes nationwide.”
Ekandjo stated that MTC remains committed to initiatives that create opportunities for athletes, strengthen sporting institutions and advance sport in Namibia.
