The Namibia Football Association (NFA) has announced the 24th of October to be the day all the NFA leagues will start nationwide.

This follows a meeting held on 13 October with Namport, the company which will serve as the official sponsor of the NFA leagues for the 2026/27 season.

“The Association further wishes to inform all the members that the necessary administrative processes, including the distribution and release of funds, will be undertaken before the League’s kick-off date,” said NFA Acting General Secretary Mr Mabos Vries in a statement.

“Considering the above, all members are once again urged to ensure full compliance with player registration requirements and to confirm all stadium bookings in good time to facilitate the smooth commencement of the leagues and that all leagues’ fixtures must be submitted to the NFA Competition’s department.”

The start of the leagues comes six months after the Namibia Professional Football League was concluded, in April 2026.
