Namibia wins her first silver medal at the Olympics Games of the year 2021 in the women’s 200 metres sprint.

This remarkable feat was a result of the historic rise of 18-year old Christine Mboma.

Mboma came second at a time of 21.81 seconds, winning herself the silver spot on the podium. Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson-Herah clinched gold, while USA’s Gabrielle Thomas came third.

Namibia’s Beatrice Masilingi came sixth in the same event.

The two girls’ achievement comes as a sweet victory for Namibia, a country where sport development is not a priority for the nation.

At 18 years old, the two athletes are set to dominate the international athletics in the coming few years.
