You can still start over
By Josefina Ndeshi Gabriel |
So many things around us are beyond our control. And it’s not our fault. We can’t control the actions of other people or those of the government, just as we can’t control the sun or the rain or the weather.
But your lifestyle, your choices, your attitudes, habits, and the weather inside your heart are all in your hands and within your control at all times.
There are things elders might have taught you when you were small, which might indicate that your life is not yours alone to determine. As you grow up you now can see that you have a choice and authority to choose what is right in your life and future.
You can choose which bricks to use in building your life.
Sometimes you may feel like it is no more possible for you to make good choices and bring your life back on track. But that’s not true – the second chance is always available.
You can still go back to the beginning and start with a new life if you are willing to do so; you can still leave and cancel some of those things that might have been delaying you and always failing you. You don’t need to worry about what people will say about your past because your past will never be your future.
You might have gone far on the road to destruction. But you can turn back and start over with a new journey. You might have messed up your life, but just lift up your face and walk to the success of life.
As long as what you are doing is right and good for the future, just don’t give up in life.
And how about you thinking of that early age when you were nice, with fear and respect for authority, those years when obedience was your everyday target, those days when you were a peace-maker, those days when you were a prayer-warrior and someone who always knew the 10 Commandments and respected them.
It’s not yet too late to start over and go back to being a good person.
