The official at the Opuwo Town Council who is responsible for Small and Medium Enterprises promotion has been presented with a trainer’s equipment pack to aid him in his duty.

In 2019 Mr Gebhardt Makono and 100 other public officials from the Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade, regional councils, town councils, and business support organisations (BSOs) attended a Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop that was developed by SMEs Compete in all the 14 regions.

The participants received instruction, guidance and practical knowledge in how to support, promote and increase the potential of small businesses operating at the local level.

The programme was financially supported by German Development Service GIZ, and facilitated by SMEs Compete.

The programme identified 15 trainers in need of a trainer’s equipment pack to help the officials working with local entrepreneurs upgrade their business skills, and Makono was one of those identified to be in need of the equipment pack. And he received his pack yesterday.

GIZ-ProBATS technical advisor Mr Gideon Mawenge who presented the pack to Makono urged the municipality of Opuwo to make productive use of the equipment to help local entrepreneurs grow their businesses and to create jobs.
