Nashikonya Cultural Group was on hand to entertain guests and locals alike at Onawa Township during the groundbreaking ceremony and official commissioning of the Onawa Extension 7 & 8 electrification projects by Oshakati Premier Electric and Oshakati Town Council on 7 July 2023.
The event was graced by such dignitaries as the Minister of Urban and Rural Development Mr Erastus Uutoni, Oshana Governor Elia Irimari, Oshana Police Commissioner Lungameni Sakaria, Oshakati Mayor Leonard Hango and many stakeholders in the electricity sector.
Nashikonya Cultural Group, from Ongwediva, delivered a lively performance with such songs as “Tangi tangi pilimiya”, “Omihoko dOvawambo”, “Onime oondjo tayi gono” and others.
The group is under the leadership of Fenny Amagulu.
