The NAMDIA Foundation has donated N$250 000 to the Nampharm Foundation for the benefit of children born with a cleft lip palate.
Children born with this condition encounter difficulties with speech and nutritional deficiencies due to feeding challenges and other ailments.
This condition affects a child’s ability to live a normal life and they often find themselves societal pariahs with no hope for a normal life.
“The NAMPHARM Foundation’s Cleft Palette reconstruction program is a perfect example of impactful sustainable projects and the NAMDIA Foundation is proud to associate itself with an institution that aims to restore dignity, hope and confidence in children and ensuring they live a fulfilling life as they grow into contributing members of our society,” said Namdia’s spokesperson Ms Beverley Coussement.
Recognizing the life changing work the NAMPHARM team has embarked upon, in 2022, the NAMDIA Foundation donated N$250 000 to this noble program. The donation steered the successful reconstruction surgery of 10 children with cleft palette in 2023.
At a handover ceremony held on 27 February 2024 at the NAMDIA Headquarters, the NAMDIA Foundation handed over a second donation of N$250 000 to the NAMPHARM Foundation for their Cleft Palette Reconstruction Program.
This donation will ensure that 10 more children undergo this crucial and life changing procedure in 2024, providing them with a renewed opportunity for a better life.
