Letshego Holdings Namibia opened a fully-fledged commercial bank at Oshakati.
The opening of the branch situated at Game Complex was done by the Mayor of Oshakati Mr Leonard Hango and Letshego Holdings Namibia CEO Dr Ester Kali.
This first deposit-taking branch in oshakati was described as a milestone for financial inclusion.
“We are excited to launch this first deposit-taking branch in Oshakati. This marks a significant step forward in Letshego’s mission to provide inclusive and accessible financial services to communities nationwide,” said Letshego Holdings Namibia CEO Dr Ester Kali.
“This branch, located at Shop No. 10 in the Oshakati Shopping Centre (Game Complex) on Okatana Road, is a modern facility that offers banking and microfinance solutions, making it easier for individuals, entrepreneurs, and all businesses to access the financial tools they need to grow and succeed.”
Kali also said that this new branch demonstrates Letshego’s commitment to supporting Namibia’s socio-economic development.
“By expanding its presence in Oshakati, Letshego reaffirms its promise to empower more Namibians with affordable, suitable and impactful financial solutions.”
Kali also stated: “This branch is more than just bricks and mortar – it is a gateway to opportunity. It represents Letshego’s purpose, which is to improve lives by extending financial access to every corner of our country, especially underserved regions.
“Letshego is about improving lives. Most people are using loans for productive purposes. This branch is testament to our shared growth.”
Kali said that with a strong focus on financial inclusion, financial literacy, and innovation, Letshego Holdings Namibia continues to deliver simple, accessible and impactful financial services, adding that this latest development reflects the company’s long-term strategy to diversify its offerings and reach more customers across Namibia.
Oshakati’s Mayor Mr Leonard Hango said that he was grateful to Letshego for its decision to open the bank in Oshakati. Hango said that in the past he had twice received loans from Letshego for his construction business.
“Now that you have developed into a fully-fledged bank, it is good,” Hango said. “The opportunities are there. People want to build homes; they need loans to build homes. With Letshego Bank, now things will be easier for them.”
The Oshakati branch has started with business today and is ready to serve customers from all walks of life with various services, including transactional accounts, savings and investments, home loans, personal loans and microfinance solutions tailored to support individuals and small businesses to improve livelihoods and transform communities.
