The Okongo Village Council has appointed Mr Jackson Muma as its third Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment is effective on 15 September 2025.
Muma is a corporate communications and governance professional with over 14 years of service in Namibia’s local authority sector. His appointment as Chief Executive Officer of the Okongo Village Council marks a new chapter in a career defined by strategic leadership, community development and institutional excellence.
Muma holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Political Studies.
His experience and academic background has provided him with a strong foundation in business strategy, leadership and public policy skills he has effectively applied throughout his career in local governance.
During the year 2023, his outstanding contribution was recognized nationally when the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology named him one of the Best Communicators in the Local Authority Category during its annual award ceremony.
“As Chief Executive Officer of Okongo Village Council, Muma brings with him a wealth of experience in governance, stakeholder engagement and strategic planning,” said Ms Linda Ndinoshinge, the Acting CEO for Okongo Village Council.
“His leadership vision is anchored in transparency, inclusive development and sustainable community growth.
“He is committed to working closely with the Council, government institutions, private sector partners and residents to drive socioeconomic transformation and position Okongo as a model of progressive urban Centre.”
Muma had worked for Ongwediva Town Council as the corporate communication officer for seven years and nine months before leaving for a short stint at the Namibia Qualifications Authority where he worked as the marketing and communication officer.
