When we are stronger than others, or if we have power and authority over others, we may be tempted to punish others if they do something that is wrong.
Even a child can have power over others.
So if you have power to punish others, you must do so with mercy and love for others. That is why even our God can have mercy on us if we do wrong things and we deserve punishment from him.
